Gratefulness... It's life-changing!
Gratefulness. It's life-changing!
As I was coming home from work today, I kept replaying negative moments from the day in my head. "I am not good enough. I failed at this task today." I was just so frustrated with myself and a person who chose to dump her negativity right in my lap. I turned on a local radio station, just trying to hear something positive from outside my own head. The first words I heard were these, "Be grateful. It will change your life." I instantly froze. Was that for me?
As I continued to listen to the program, I heard words that I needed today. Choose to find the positive moments each day. Recognize the positive; let go of the negative. Choosing to be grateful will change your life.
I thought, "Have I really been grateful today?" Sadly, I made the choice early in the day to dwell on the negative moments. I chose to ignore the positive elements of my day. I quickly started trying to think of positive moments. I might have let negativity reign in my heart and mind just minutes before, but glimpses of positives rapidly outshone those few moments, those few comments, that made me feel so angry and down.
When I reached home, I was able to walk in the door with a smile on my face. I thanked God for my positive moments and handed over the negative ones. I kissed my husband, and I hugged The Superlings. All was right once again.
But what about tomorrow? Can I remember to let go of the negative and embrace the positive? God knew I needed to hear that radio show on my home. Now I need to do my part and have an attitude of gratefulness. It certainly changed my day, and life is just one day at a time. I could use a little life-changing in the way of positive thinking.
